6. James
The leader of the church in Jerusalem, was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his

* This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.

Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor compared to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles and disciples during their times For the sake of the Faith. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: But he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Have you ever felt lonely or abandoned? Loneliness can be temporarily overcome through many diversions or activities. However, the basic problem remains unsolved. The minute anxiety and difficulties appear, your loneliness becomes even more intensified. When, in addition to outer needs, inner difficulties arise, the loneliness thereby created can reach such a point as to cause bodily and spiritual damage. You lose the joy and interest in your work; you become tired and worn-out; your physical strength decrease; suddenly you reach a point where you can no longer hold your head above water. It does no good to complain about God at such moments, for it only makes things worse. And self incrimination doesn’t help much, for it only leads to despair.
There is only one way out-all others lead to failure. To you the Lord Jesus Christ is calling;
“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” (Matt 11: 28).
You too, may come to the son of God. You too, may take words of Isaiah 43:1 personally:
“Fear not; for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name thou art mine”.
The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross for you too. He shed his precious blood, which cleansed us from all our sins (1 John 1: 7). He obtained redemption for you on the cross of Calvary; “Fear not; for I have redeemed thee”. For your salvation and redemption, the dying Savior cried out; “It is finished!”
My friend, you need no longer suffer because of your sins. The Lord Jesus Christ allowed himself to be forsaken by God for you too; and loves you so much that He is at this moment, calling you; “I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine”. He not only knows your name, he knows your entire life, for before Him nothing is hidden. He knows your unfaithfulness, your doubts, your ungodly, your disputes; he knows all your sins and mine. It is because he knows you for what you are, that he has called you by your name. He means just you. He bought you with the price of his precious blood, just as it states in 1 Peter 1:18-19; “For as much ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”. “Thou art mine”, says the Lord. Have you experienced the wonder of belonging to Christ? Come to your Redeemer now, in spirit, and confess to Him, in deepest repentance of your sins. Believes and thank Him for his redemption. Follow his call, He loves you and accepts you.
He who has received the son of God into his heart is no longer alone. You too, can have new live today. All sense of loneliness will disappear. Even in time of greatest need you will perceive the help and presence of your savior. This is not an illusion or hope, but all living reality! The great promise given in Isaiah 43:2 will be transformed into daily experienced for you; “when thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walks through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”. Neither heat nor cold will be able to affect you once you have completely given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Difficulties and needs are common to all men – and Christians are no exception. However, he who possesses the son of God remains strong throughout every trials, and is victorious in every battle of life.
Just as Daniel’s three friends were cast into the fiery furnace and remained unsigned, the Lord helps every person today who has given him his or her entire life. Just exactly when the need is the greatest, the Lord is so near. Nebuchadnezzar was astonished, and said; “…did we cast three men bounds into the midst of the fire, lo I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the son of God” (Daniel 3: 24-25). My friend, if you will but yield your life to the Lord Jesus, you shall never again be alone. You will become a living witness for your Redeemer, for he has promised you; “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world (Matt 28:20)”. Will you take the courage today as you declare “I AM NOT ALONE”. God bless you. AMEN.-Dr G O Oyedepo.

Have you ever seen or heard of greatly successful men or women that lived and died yet as a failure and pauper!

From the book of Luke chapter 12 reading from verses 16 to 21: “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

Vs 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

Vs 18- And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods

Vs 19- And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou has much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry

Vs 20- But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou has provided?

Vs 21- So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God”.

The greatest mistake of life is not to be successful in your endeavors, with wealth, riches and fat bank account or great satisfaction of life, BUT when you choose to quietly and carelessly assassinate a divine VISION, PURPOSE of God for your LIFE and replace it with material things with all its achievements that are merely temporal! —- blessings and breakthrough must not be allow to become a snare and cage your dream of impacting on other positively and also to interpret their vision from God, rather, it should be an added advantage to make God happy in the life of others, you must therefore rise up to take care of your heavenly mandate now!

A young man was highly determined to set the record straight why he lived in the beautiful city of lust and worldliness and demonic slavery, he had the opportunity just like you and I but, the man Joseph in Egypt said ” How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Gen 39:7-12.

He closed his eyes and bluntly rejected the offer to sleep with his master’s wife!

Also our beloved brothers that was taken away in captivity- the great ambassadors of God almighty and gospel carrier of God of Israel refused to wine and dine with kings delicacy in the great Babylon kingdom- Daniel and other said, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink, Daniel 1:12”. Are they not better after ten days? don’t they strives to retain the spirit of God upon their life? were they not vindicated at the end? Certainly yes! they experienced the glory of God at the end.

No other voice can be stronger than that of our lord Jesus Christ when He said, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me- Matt 16:24”.

This remain a great message in the church today when apostle Paul said “But indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ” And he further raised alarm in his final decision toward fulfilling for God alone and said “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in christ Jesus”- Philip 3:8,14

You can’t afford to disappoint your creator and your generation….brace up now and take your rightful place in God’s kingdom and fulfill your great destiny……God is still waiting for your gallant decision and I know, that you are also aware that you won’t be able to withstand it when God takes His own decision to replace you for his assignment….Hurry up now my friend while you still have your breath! The great men and women of Faith in the history of the church are not the careless type or of weak in their respective vision, but of great doggedness, resolute in mission and never attached meaningful decoration around their life that was always viewed as a vapor that can suddenly disappear, life that can be terminated by the creator without apology. So they focused only on things that will make God happy and things that is profitable to their savior, things that will put crown of gold on them in eternity and not flashing and beautiful things of this world that are worthless and useless in eternity. God bless you!-Dr G.O Oyedepo.
