Have you ever felt lonely or abandoned? Loneliness can be temporarily overcome through many diversions or activities. However, the basic problem remains unsolved. The minute anxiety and difficulties appear, your loneliness becomes even more intensified. When, in addition to outer needs, inner difficulties arise, the loneliness thereby created can reach such a point as to cause bodily and spiritual damage. You lose the joy and interest in your work; you become tired and worn-out; your physical strength decrease; suddenly you reach a point where you can no longer hold your head above water. It does no good to complain about God at such moments, for it only makes things worse. And self incrimination doesn’t help much, for it only leads to despair.
There is only one way out-all others lead to failure. To you the Lord Jesus Christ is calling;
“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” (Matt 11: 28).
You too, may come to the son of God. You too, may take words of Isaiah 43:1 personally:
“Fear not; for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name thou art mine”.
The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross for you too. He shed his precious blood, which cleansed us from all our sins (1 John 1: 7). He obtained redemption for you on the cross of Calvary; “Fear not; for I have redeemed thee”. For your salvation and redemption, the dying Savior cried out; “It is finished!”
My friend, you need no longer suffer because of your sins. The Lord Jesus Christ allowed himself to be forsaken by God for you too; and loves you so much that He is at this moment, calling you; “I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine”. He not only knows your name, he knows your entire life, for before Him nothing is hidden. He knows your unfaithfulness, your doubts, your ungodly, your disputes; he knows all your sins and mine. It is because he knows you for what you are, that he has called you by your name. He means just you. He bought you with the price of his precious blood, just as it states in 1 Peter 1:18-19; “For as much ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”. “Thou art mine”, says the Lord. Have you experienced the wonder of belonging to Christ? Come to your Redeemer now, in spirit, and confess to Him, in deepest repentance of your sins. Believes and thank Him for his redemption. Follow his call, He loves you and accepts you.
He who has received the son of God into his heart is no longer alone. You too, can have new live today. All sense of loneliness will disappear. Even in time of greatest need you will perceive the help and presence of your savior. This is not an illusion or hope, but all living reality! The great promise given in Isaiah 43:2 will be transformed into daily experienced for you; “when thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walks through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”. Neither heat nor cold will be able to affect you once you have completely given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Difficulties and needs are common to all men – and Christians are no exception. However, he who possesses the son of God remains strong throughout every trials, and is victorious in every battle of life.
Just as Daniel’s three friends were cast into the fiery furnace and remained unsigned, the Lord helps every person today who has given him his or her entire life. Just exactly when the need is the greatest, the Lord is so near. Nebuchadnezzar was astonished, and said; “…did we cast three men bounds into the midst of the fire, lo I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the son of God” (Daniel 3: 24-25). My friend, if you will but yield your life to the Lord Jesus, you shall never again be alone. You will become a living witness for your Redeemer, for he has promised you; “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world (Matt 28:20)”. Will you take the courage today as you declare “I AM NOT ALONE”. God bless you. AMEN.-Dr G O Oyedepo.
